Cruise Night 2009

IMPORTANT NOTICE:
Officials for Glendale announced today that the City will no longer be accepting car entries for this year's Cruise Night Car Show and Street Party. The City also announced today street closures associated with the event.

Rock and roll legends Sha Na Na will headline this year's entertainment at the 16th Annual Cruise Night Car Show and Street Party. The event will be held on Saturday, July 18, from 5:30-10:30 p.m. on Brand Boulevard between Lexington and Broadway.

Performance Schedule

5:30 p.m. - 6:10 p.m.      The Four Preps
6:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.      The Four Preps
7:15 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.      The Jan and Dean Show
8:30 p.m.      City Officials and Pat Boone
9:00 p.m. - 10:15 p.m.      Sha Na Na





Sha Na Na

City spokesman Ritch Wells says Sha Na Na's appearance this year carries a special significance for the group. "2009 marks the group's 40th Anniversary of its appearance at the famed Woodstock Music Festival," says Wells. "Sha Na Na always puts on a great show and we think nostalgia fans will want to celebrate this special milestone."

In addition to the 1969 Woodstock Festival, Sha Na Na also appeared in the movie "Grease" and hosted its own television series between 1977 and 1981.

The Jan and Dean Show featuring Dean Torrence

The show will feature several of the duo's original hits including "Surf City" and "The Little Old Lady from Pasadena." Get ready to rev up your engines for the surf and car songs so identifiable to Southern California.

The Four Preps

Opening this year's entertainment will be the Four Preps whose million sellers include the classic "26 Miles to Santa Catalina". The Four Preps amassed 8 Gold singles & 3 Gold albums, and more recently appeared on an award winning PBS Special.

Brian Beirne

This year's emcee will once again be KRTH radio legend Brian Beirne, MR. ROCK N' ROLL ®

SPECIAL Celebrity Guest Judge - PAT BOONE

Pat Boone is an American singer, actor and writer who was a successful pop singer during the 1950s and early 1960s. He sold over 45 million albums, had 38 top-40 hits and starred in over 12 Hollywood movies.

Cruise Night has become one of the premiere car shows in southern California drawing an estimated 35,000 visitors each year. Over 400 classic cars and trucks will be on display.

Registration deadline is July 9.
